Integrated Sustainable Development Initiative (ISDI)
Strengthening Farmers, Securing Cameroon's Future
Integrated Sustainable Development Initiative – Empowering rural communities through sustainable agriculture
Integrated Sustainable Development Initiative (ISDI) is a local non-governmental organization dedicated to rural economic development in Cameroon. We work directly with farming communities to build sustainable agricultural systems that ensure food security and economic growth for present and future generations.
Our Impact
Building Thriving Farming Communities
Sustainable Practices
We train farmers in climate-smart techniques that protect the environment while increasing productivity.
Community-Led Approach
Every program begins with community consultation, ensuring solutions match local needs and traditions.
Women & Youth Empowerment
60% of our beneficiaries are women and youth, creating inclusive rural development.
Market Access
We connect farmers to better markets through cooperative development and value chain support.
Why ISDI? Why Now?
For nearly two years, ISDI has worked shoulder-to-shoulder with farming communities across Cameroon’s Northwest and Southwest Regions. We don’t deliver quick fixes. We build lasting systems.
We don’t impose solutions. We co-create them with farmers who know their land best. And we don’t measure success by activities completed—we measure it by yields increased, incomes raised, and families fed.
Our services are not isolated interventions. They are an integrated ecosystem of support. A farmer who learns sustainable techniques also gains access to quality seeds, joins a cooperative for better prices, and receives climate advisories before disaster strikes.
Every service connects to every other service because real transformation requires holistic solutions.
What We Do - Our Services
We operate across five interconnected thematic areas designed to uplift rural communities from farm to market.

Agriculture &
Farming
Improved crop and livestock techniques, fisheries management, climate resilience, and soil conservation methods for local farmers.

Market Access & Cooperatives
Connecting farmers to local, national, and international markets through cooperative frameworks and supply chain support.

Finance & Equipment Access
Linking farmers to input financing, equipment acquisition schemes, and credit programs to reduce barriers to production.
Who We Serve
ISDI’s programs are built around the most vulnerable and productive members of rural Cameroon.
Farmers
Rural farmers in peasant organizations, common initiative groups, and cooperatives.
Youth
Young people in rural areas gaining agricultural skills and economic independence.
Women
Rural women empowered through inclusive agricultural programs and leadership opportunities.
Vulnerable Groups
IDPs, refugees, victims of disaster, and other vulnerable populations in rural communities.
